Pastor David Earl Cook Obituary

Talladega, Alabaama - Pastor David Earl Cook was born on June 18, 1964, to the parentage of the late Archie Lee Bennett and Mary Lee Bennett. He peacefully departed this life on February 20, 2026, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama.

Pastor Cook received his education in the Talladega County School System and attended B.B. Comer Memorial High School in Sylacauga, Alabama. He later began his career at Avondale Mills, Inc., where he worked faithfully until his health prevented him from continuing.

At an early age, David accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Shiloh Baptist Church in Sylacauga, Alabama. He later moved his membership to Mount Olive Baptist Church in Sycamore, Alabama, under the leadership of Pastor Raymond Garrett. There, he faithfully served as a deacon. Through his spiritual growth and unwavering devotion, he developed a deep and abiding love for God and His people.

In 1994, Pastor Cook answered the divine call to preach the Gospel. He was licensed and later ordained into the Gospel Ministry, serving faithfully throughout the surrounding communities for twenty-two years. His obedience, humility, and dedication to God’s will led to his elevation to the pastorate of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where he served as a devoted and compassionate shepherd for eleven years. Pastor Cook led with wisdom, integrity, and a servant’s heart until the Lord called him home. His life and ministry were a testimony of faith, perseverance, and love for God’s people.

Pastor Cook was preceded in death by his loving parents, Archie Lee Bennett and Mary Lee Bennett, and one beloved child, Reniah Leigh Ann Cook.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving children, R’Davian Na’Shayne Cook and Taje DaiSean Cook, both of Sylacauga, Alabama; Antoine Anderson, Dominic Anderson, and Royann Anderson, all of Seattle, Washington; brothers, Calvin (Gwen) Cook, George (Linda) Bennett, and Andrew (Tara) Bennett; sisters, Martha Bennett, Abagail Bennett, and Rosie Keller; special friend, Reverend Cedric Dark; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and many devoted friends.
